The Netherlands Journal of Critical Care (Neth. J. Crit. Care) operates under an open-access publishing model. To support the editorial, peer-review, production, hosting, and long-term preservation of published articles, an Article Processing Charge (APC) of USD 300 is applicable to accepted manuscripts.
Article Processing Charge: USD 300 per accepted article
The APC is payable only after a manuscript has been accepted for publication. Payment of an APC does not influence the editorial decision, peer-review process, or acceptance of a manuscript.
The APC supports services associated with the publication process, including:
Authors are not required to pay an APC when submitting a manuscript. The charge applies only to manuscripts that have been formally accepted for publication.
The journal maintains a strict separation between financial considerations and editorial decisions. The ability or willingness of an author to pay an APC does not affect the scientific evaluation, peer review, acceptance, or rejection of a manuscript.
Any waiver or reduction of the APC, where available, may be considered by the journal on a case-by-case basis and must be approved by the editorial office. Eligibility for a waiver does not guarantee manuscript acceptance.
APCs are generally non-refundable once publication production has commenced. Any exceptional refund request will be considered by the editorial office based on the circumstances of the case.
