Manuscript Submission

The Netherlands Journal of Critical Care (Neth. J. Crit. Care) welcomes original, high-quality manuscripts that are relevant to the journal's aims and scope. Authors are requested to carefully follow the submission requirements below to facilitate efficient editorial assessment and peer review.

Submission Requirements

Authors should submit the following materials:

  • Manuscript in Word Format: The complete manuscript should be submitted as an editable Microsoft Word file.
  • Complete Author Information: The manuscript submission should include the full names, academic qualifications/designations, institutional affiliations, and email addresses of all authors. The corresponding author should be clearly identified.
  • ORCID iD: Authors are encouraged to provide their ORCID iD to ensure accurate identification and attribution of their scholarly work.
  • References: References should be prepared in MLA format. Authors must ensure that all references are complete, accurate, and consistently formatted. Where available, each reference should include the correct DOI or a direct link to the cited source.
  • Cover Letter: A cover letter should accompany every manuscript and briefly explain the significance of the work, its suitability for the journal, and any relevant information that should be considered by the editorial team.
  • Ethical Approval: Where applicable, authors must provide documentation confirming approval from the relevant ethics committee, institutional review board, or other appropriate authority.
  • Conflict of Interest Statement: Authors must disclose any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest related to the submitted work.
  • Plagiarism/S similarity Report: Authors should provide a plagiarism or similarity report generated using Turnitin or an equivalent reputable similarity-detection software. Authors are encouraged to ensure that the similarity index complies with the journal's plagiarism policy before submission.

Author Responsibility

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all submitted information and documents are accurate and complete. Submission of a manuscript confirms that the authors have reviewed the journal's policies and agree to comply with its publication ethics, authorship, originality, and peer-review requirements.

Manuscripts that do not meet the required submission criteria may be returned to the authors for correction before being considered for editorial assessment.
